We have brought some new options to the admin platform to allow for more customization of your organization's TripShot instance, specifically for On Demand
We have brought some new options to the admin platform to allow for more customization of your organization's TripShot instance, specifically for On Demand and FlexRide.
First, is our User Creation rule, which allow users to have the Flex and On Demand Tile in the Rider app. This allows users to create user creation rules to enable or disable On Demand or FlexRide based on a users email domain.
Next, is our newest option to support car seats for On Demand. This creates a new setting under the On Demand Configuration screen that will allow users to hide the car seats capacity type when making new requests.
iOS Updates
Rider App - 2024-05-28
Improve
- Add support for option to hide capacity meter. For those that do not track riders off, there is now a way to disable the capacity meter.
Fix
- Use service region time zone on valet ticket detail screen. Time displayed for Valet ticket and its details will now be consistent with the device's time zone on the 'My Trips' page.

Improve
- Add support for option to hide capacity meter. For those that do not track riders off, there is now a way to disable the capacity meter.
- QR code reader improvements. To improve performance, we will move to CameraX, the newer camera API on Android. Also, adding a flash/torch button to illuminate QR codes at night.
Fix
- Use service region time zone on valet ticket detail screen. Time displayed for Valet ticket and its details will now be consistent with the device's time zone on the 'My Trips' page.
Web Updates
Admin Web - 2024-05-02
New
- Simple backend support for hiding the rider capacity meter. The MobileBootData has a new field "hideCapacityMeter" which is a boolean and defaults to false unless the experiment flag is enabled on the instance. This will allow the capacity meter to be hidden in the rider app for instances do not track when a rider alights the vehicle.
Improve
- Add optional driverInactivityLogoutPeriodMs property to instance. This adds in new settings for driver inactivity under the Driver Auth tab in settings. The new settings include an action which is to login or enter a driver pin and how long the driver should be inactive for before inactivity action occurs.
- Allow up to 6 digit pin (backend and admin web). This increases the driver pin count from 4 digits to 4-6 digits.
- Alter External Commute Journal so that Fixed Route Boards that we only know about because a driver marked a reservation as used. Adds reservations marked used by driver to external commute journal.
- Respect pickup/dropoff type when importing gtfs. GTFS parsing code now respects pickup and dropoff types specified in GTFS files.
- Add additional query parameters to GET /v1/valet/ticket/autofill. Adds additional query parameters for improved autofill results.
- IEV Charging Stop on State Transitions to Ready or Left Behind. Valet tickets that have EV charging started and transition to ready or left behind will effectively stop EV charging.
- Search Bar to Include results from the display name for Anonymous Riders. This will allow users to search for anonymous On Demand riders in dispatching and in the On Demand requests screens.
- Validation should be displayed when the admin saves the 'EV Range (miles)' field with invalid data on the 'Resources>> Vehicles' page. This update corrects an issue in the ‘Resources > Vehicles’ tab where a non-numerical value could incorrectly be saved to the fuel type MPG field. Only numerical values can now be saved successfully.
Improve
- Improvement to SAML SSO to handle complex rules for rider application access. This adds in a new User Login Rules section under Rules tab in settings. This will allow you to deny logins based on user tags, employment type and custom SAML attributes using regex.
- Disallow updating a custom field name for an incident type & add a disclaimer when editing custom fields. This will prevent custom incident field names from being changed and show a message letting the user know that the custom field names cannot be changed.
Improve
- Support Trip_Headsigns in GTFS. TripShot populates the trip_headsign field in the GTFS with the route headsign. This improvement will export the scheduled ride’s headsign in the GTFS and if that is not available then the route headsign will be used. Admin web UI updates add the ability to set the headsign at the trip level.
- Add in an audit log entry when the driver pin is updated. This will track when a driver pin is updated and who updated it via the audit log.
- Add "Runs On" column to Assignments tab. We wish to show the days on which a fixed route ride runs. This makes it easier to understand the changes that will be in effect when placing a ride in a shift. The column selector will allow showing this new column when the experiment flag is enabled.
- Switch Rider Web, System Map, Driver Web to new Google Maps key and version 3.55. In "international" release Admin console was switched to new Google Maps key and version 3.55. This ticket follows up doing the same to the other 3 web applications.
Fix
- '5000' input should be acceptable in 'EV Range (miles)' field on the 'Resources>> Vehicles' page. This update corrects an issue with the ‘Resources > Vehicles’ tab when fuel type MPG numerical values are saved. The admin console will no longer present a validation message when attempting to save a vehicle with a large MPG value (5000 or more).
- Admin should not be able to save 'EV range(miles)' for less than '1' value in decimal (Say 0.1) on the 'Resources>> Vehicles' page. This update corrects an issue in the ‘Resources > Vehicles’ tab where numerical values of less than 1 could be successfully saved. This issue has been corrected.
- Validation incorrectly displayed for a vehicle on 'Resources>> Vehicles page. This update corrects an issue in the ‘Resources > Vehicles’ tab where fuel MPG values entered were causing an unexpected validation message to be displayed to admin users. This message has been removed and users are able to save numerical values in this field with no issue.
- Banner displayed under 'Custom Fields' is impacting text readability due to background color & Inconsistent with other banners. This update corrects an issue felt with text readability within the admin console - Incidents module.
- Admin is unable to save vehicle with Diesel/Biodiesel/Gasoline/Hybrid fuel type on 'Resources>> Vehicle' page. #8636 - This update corrects an issue felt while attempting to save new and existing vehicle information in the ‘Resources > Vehicles’ tab. Now when a selection has been made in the Fuel Type column ('Diesel/Biodiesel/Gasoline/Hybrid') and the user selects ‘Save’, an error will no longer occur and the update will save.
Beta
- Valet x TSR | Notification/Message Logic for App and NonApp Users. App users will receive in app notifications and non app users will continue to receive SMS notifications with implemented logic.
- Valet | When creating a Ticket with Keybox that does not exists, backend throws 500 instead of returning a meaningful error. Validation error now present when attempting to associate a deleted key box to a ticket.
- Valet | POST /v1/valet/ticket/{ticketId}/requestEvCharging is failing in Parked state. Fixes issue when user is requesting EV charging in Parked state and typo in error response.
- Valet | Error page displayed on navigating to 'Valet' page. Fixes issue receiving error when navigating to the Valet module.
Admin Web - 2024-05-14
Beta
- Valet | Improve default inspection photo quality and resolution, and make both configurable in app. In efforts to retrieve better quality photos for damage reporting, we will improve photo quality.
- Valet | Alert valet attendant when EV charging is requested. Work to improve the workflow when a rider requests EV charging. We will play an alert sound in the attendant app when a new EV charging request is detected for vehicles in the parked state only. We will also show an alert icon "!" on the Parked tab if that tab is not selected and a new EV charge request is detected.

- Journey events need to be generated when drivers start/end ad-hoc activities. This is to track the addition of Driver adhoc activities to Journey Events. This is backend driven and will not be felt by end users.
- Create new endpoint in ExaTMS to make fetching a currently existing failsafetoken easier. This is a backend ticket to track the creation of a new endpoint related to updating token formats. This will not be felt by end users.
- Update API Doc for GET /v2/stopDataReport. Updating API’s.
- Return RegionId for Each Entry in v2/commuteJournalChange. St Jude requested to add the regionId to all entries in the v2/commuteJournalChange endpoint. This is because we have two regions for testing in the demo instance.
- Optionally enable "new" arrival detection algo for inexact loops via experiment flag. This setting has been on for other route types. Now turning on for inexact loops.
- Increase user deletion limit to 20000. Currently we limit the number of users that can be deleted in a single User Sync run to 10000. This is to prevent the process from running too long and to make sure we feel its safe.
- Add Rider Email Address Field to Email Body of Incident. Rider email addresses are now included within the body of the incident email. Users with no email address will include the username.
- Remove the onDemandBikes and onDemandCarSeats experiment flags. This will remove the experiment flag requirement in order to show the allow bike racks and allow car seat settings under the On Demand configuration screen.
- Report if FlexRide Trip Was Part of Initial Schedule or Subsequent Schedule. This adds the additional fields below to the FlexRide report so that users can answer these questions: Waitlisted riders that were promoted to a scheduled, non-waitlisted riders that were unfulfilled, do riders get their first choice? Additional fields include: initial schedule dropoff, subsequent schedule pickup, subsequent schedule dropoff, Initial schedule waitlist position, subsequent schedule waitlist position
Fix
- Can Use On Demand'/'Can Use FlexRide' checkboxes should be displayed as disabled to Read only admin/Dispatcher on 'Resources >> Users' page. This prevents read only admins/dispatchers from changing the setting that allows riders to use the On Demand and FlexRide tiles in the rider app.
- Tag updates not reflected in 'User Login Rules' Section on 'Settings >> Rules' page. This ticket is correct behavior within the admin console pertaining to Rules. With this update, Tag updates should be reflected in the 'User Login Rules' Section on the 'Settings >> Rules' page.
- Rule with deleted tag keeps on displaying in the 'User Login Rules' section on the 'Settings >> Rules' page. This ticket is to correct behavior within the admin console pertaining to Rules. Now, a Rule with a deleted tag will disappear from the 'User Login Rules' section on the 'Settings >> Rules' page.
Beta
- Valet | Separate Valet Ticket states and event types. Fixes issue of shared ticket states and event types
- Valet | Add valetServiceId query parameter to GET /v1/keybox and GET /v2/valet/keybox. Adds query parameters to keyboxes.
- Valet | Autofill view breaks if dealing with tickets that have empty model or make fields. Fix on backend with autofill feature.
- Valet | Valet ticket commute journal entry never contains endTime or localEndTime.
- Valet | Increase Valet Service Description Character Limit. Removes 100 character limitation to a Valet service description.

- Add schema validation for backend responses. This is a backend driven ticket that shouldn’t be felt by end users.
Fix
- Wallet page title, as per ticket. This updates the title page for the Refill Balance, Transactions and Saved Credit Cards pages.
Rider Web - 2024-05-17

- Rider navigation should focus on content after selection. Correcting behavior. Now, when selecting items in the left column, the focus will shift to the requested information.
Fix
- Fix lost changes for "Skip Navigation" in rider web. Correcting behavior of Skip Navigation button.
- Null pointer exception on navigating to the Rider Web>>Wallet page. Correcting behavior. Wallet>>Refill tab content will display without any errors.
