GREAT BARRINGTON, MA –  February 28, 2024 – The Town of Great Barrington’s TriTown Connector is now even more accessible and convenient. TriTown Connector recently launched mobile app services with TripShot, a unified transportation demand management (TDM) software, to manage their on-demand and fixed route transit and to improve the rider experience for residents and visitors.

“We are so excited to be using this new mobility operating system,” said Tate Coleman, Program Director for the TriTown Connector. “The usability and reliability of TripShot has proven to be a game-changer for our community, especially seniors and people with disabilities.”

Covering a mostly rural service area of over 100 square miles, The Town of Great Barrington faced unique challenges in optimizing its transit system for better on-time performance and better rider experience. However, with the supportive and timely implementation of TripShot, riders began enjoying a better transit experience only a month after training began.

“Moving to TripShot’s mobility operating system was near seamless,” Coleman added. “It only took a couple of days to switch from our old software and start with TripShot. There is so much flexibility to monitor the day-to-day operations, pull reports and even try new transit services.”

TripShot’s automatic dispatching capabilities have helped to elevate efficiency for the TriTown Connector team and have resulted in timely and reliable transit service for their riders. TripShot’s reporting capabilities are providing the team with valuable insights to optimize operations and support better on-time performance. This means that residents can more reliably get to a medical appointment, to work, to run errands or just to connect with their community. 

Riders now have more options to book rides, including the TripShot App or calling in via phone. They benefit from real-time information, easily tracking their approaching vehicle with second-by-second updates so they can plan their travel with the most accuracy.
